AQUAMAN movie review

Before I went to see Aquaman, there were mixed reviews online. As I have learnt over the years, you can not please everyone so it's best to see for yourself and form your own opinion. I am happy I went to see it and I watched it in IMAX 3D, I highly recommend. Let's talk about the acting.

The acting from the main characters were great, I loved Aqua man and Mera's scenes together. There was romantic energy but not the overtly crude vibe. Each scene they were in together was an absolute delight.

Nicole Kidman looked absolutely beautiful, I enjoyed watching her. She was a great addition to the cast.

The fight scenes underwater were amazing!!! and visually engaging. Don't know how to talk about the fight scenes without sharing spoilers. The costumes. The costumes for this movie were very well thought out. I was in love with every outfit for all characters. The battle in the ring of Fire battle outfit worn by Aqua man looked nice under water but once he stepped out, I was not liking it at all. That was the only outfit I did not like. King Nereus's outfit was amazing, I loved it. The colours came together nicely with the colour of his hair and beard.

After Aquaman took possession of the trident, his outfit screamed, supreme leader. I was in awe of the colours and how it suited him so well. The costume designer deserves a huge bonus. I can only imagine how the planning went for the execution to have been so beautiful beyond words.

Mera's desert outfit also stood out for me. The styling was a definite A plus plus plus. Her green bodysuit was also amazing, the neckline was very flattering and the colour of her suit and her hair was a match made in sea heaven. Mera's jelly fish dress was a beauty to behold and I wish it was really a thing! The colours on that dress made my eyes happy. You have to see it to understand.

The soundtrack

The soundtrack was perfect! Many genres and sounds came together beautifully. Every soundtrack was paired perfectly with the right scene. I got techno game vibes from the entry to Atlantis scene. Now I am done talking about those, let's move to the best part. The cinematography and visuals

The transition from land to sea was a delight to watch. The transitions were so seamless and beautiful. I have been dreaming of a day when Hollywood would give me an amazing under water movie(even tweeted about it) and the day has finally come. The underwater cities, the creatures, the history everything was a visual delight I am absolutely grateful to have witnessed this awesomeness. To be honest, never really gotten the 3D hype, but the 3D and IMAX combo for Aquaman is the best I've seen. The greatest use of 3D I must say. It really enhanced the movie and it made me feel like I had court side seats to the destruction of the world as we know it. This movie is a creative director's dream and I can't wait until I start working on productions as amazing as this. I didn't expect to fall in love with this movie at first sight, I was a bit cautious because of the underwater scenes but the director James Wan did a great job and I am about to beg him to be my best friend. The dazzling colours, the underwater fight scenes, the story every single detail was carefully planned and seamlessly executed. I can't wait to watch it again. This movie showed how art is very important to every creative process. Different artistic expressions came together to birth this movie and without truly understanding art, this movie would not have been made so amazingly. I was blown away! It was visually thrilling. I really wonder how anyone in this world can watch this movie and not like it. I loved it and if you haven't seen it, I recommend that you do. If you have seen it and did not like it, I advise that you do watch it again, relax and enjoy the awesomeness.

I know the ladies are wondering how I can end my review without talking about how hot Aqua man /Jason Momoa is the hottest super hero out there. Just going to drop this and end this talk. *wink *wink
